The first session discusses the impact of digital technology on media diversity. Digital technology is deeply modifying how media content is produced, distributed and consumed and the resulting media diversity. The session will analyse key issues such as the migration of media companies towards multi-platform production, and the emergence of different business models allowed by digital technology. Three papers will be presented:

Françoise Benhamou is Professor of Economics, Paris 13 University and Commissioner, ARCEP (Autorité de régulation des communications électroniques et des postes). She teaches also at Sciences Po Paris and in foreign universities (Torino, Genova, Alexandria, etc.). She is a member of the Board and of the Scientific Board of the Musée du Louvre, of the Scientific Board of the Institut national du patrimoine, of the Cercle des Economistes. She is President of the ACEI (Association for Cultural Economics International). She is also a member of the Conseil supérieur de la propriété littéraire et artistique, ,of the program Committee of the TV channel ARTE and of the Board of the CNV (Centre national de la variété et du jazz).
