Medical imaging is of great interest in areas such as medical diagnostics, treatment planning and drug development. In Flanders, a very active research community is working with state-of-the-art imaging techniques involving several novel imaging modalities (e.g. different types of functional imaging) and the associated advanced image processing.
Johan de Mey
He is currently a Professor of Anatomy and Radiology at the Faculty of Medicine, VUB.
He is the Head of the Department of Radiology, University Hospital of VUB (UZ Brussels). He is especially interested in interventional radiology and in the processing and analyzing of medical images. His research interests include medical imaging on magnetic resonance, computed tomography,
X-ray, and ultrasound.
