Since joining the Firm in 1995 in the Benelux, he has served leading clients mostly on strategy, marketing & sales and business intelligence issues, in a variety of sectors (from pharmaceuticals and retail, to B2B service companies and public institutions). Over the last 3 years, he has focused on assisting global clients in both leveraging existing McKinsey Solutions (e.g. based on databases, benchmarks, analytical tools and methods, etc), as well as in upgrading their business intelligence performance and innovating in their approach to developing and leveraging business insights.
Among some of his relevant study experiences are:
Designing a best practice “learning organization” at a global utilities company, building the ground for knowledge management and business intelligence enhancement (incl. based on internal and external benchmarks)
Defining and delivering a market surveillance support to a Europe-based B2B services company going after ambitious growth objectives internationally (and leveraging McKinsey’s business intelligence network)
Putting in place global standards in marketing and sales performance management in a pharmaceutical company (to support go to market)
As the global leader of the McKinsey Solutions unit (a ~100 dedicated people unit, excluding members in participating practices), he designs and leads the deployment of the Firm’s global resources in innovative business intelligence services, leveraging advanced web-based technologies.
Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, Philippe was a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting in Paris and London.
Philippe studied Business Engineering at the Solvay Business School in Brussels, Belgium and holds an MBA from INSEAD, France. He is also a professor in Market Information Management / Market Intelligence at the Solvay Business School.
