The first session discusses the impact of digital technology on media diversity. Digital technology is deeply modifying how media content is produced, distributed and consumed and the resulting media diversity. The session will analyse key issues such as the migration of media companies towards multi-platform production, and the emergence of different business models allowed by digital technology. Three papers will be presented:
Shinto Teramoto is a Professor of law at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan, where he teaches intellectual property laws. Prior to joining the university in 2010, he was a lawyer specializing in venture capital finance and intellectual property law for about 20 years. Currently, he is also an Of Counsel at Nishimura&Asahi in Tokyo.
