The fourth and final session focuses on the measurement of media diversity. Existing methodologies to measure diversity will be discussed in particular the more and more frequent use of Stirling’s framework; as well as ways and fields to apply them, with a focus on the relation between cultural diversity and economic development. Two papers will be presented:
Sophie De Vinck (Chair)
Dr. Sophie De Vinck works as a senior researcher at iMinds-SMIT. She initially joined SMIT as a PhD researcher and successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on the digital challenges facing the European film industries and European-level film support in July 2011. Her research focuses on the film industries, digital evolutions and related policy-making efforts. She has been involved in research projects on these subjects at the regional/national and European level (e.g. the "Digital Cinema In Flanders" project for the Flemish Department of Youth Culture, Sports and Media and the IPTS MCI project). Since 2011, Sophie is also a member of the Board of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF).
