Werner Ramaekers has worked in software engineering for the past 20 years.
He started his career in the Belgian Military as a telecommunications systems egineer.
- In 2000 he left the Military to work as an internet solutions architect to create highly scalable internet portals for clients in logistics and sports.
- In 2004 Werner joined VRT to be Head of Development for the team in charge of developing web applications to let television viewers and radio listeners interact with and comment on the topics of the shows. He was one of the Business Architects for VRT's transition from tape-based to file-based production.
- In 2007 Werner was asked by VRT to start the R&D group at VRT's medialab that would investigate how to combine the flexibility of the internet with the quality of broadcast on the television screen.
- In 2011 Werner joined EVS in 2011 where he serves as the Product Development Manager for the consumer interactivity solutions.
