Wesley De Neve
Wesley De Neve received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science Engineering from Ghent University (UGent; Belgium), in 2002 and 2007, respectively. He is currently working as a senior researcher for both the Multimedia Lab at Ghent University - iMinds (Belgium) and the Image and Video Systems Lab at KAIST (South Korea). Prior to that, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Information and Communications University (ICU) in South Korea.
His current research interests and areas of publication include video adaptation and delivery, GPU-friendly video coding, near-duplicate video clip detection, privacy protection in video surveillance systems, and visual content understanding and retrieval. One of his main job responsibilities is the identification of new research questions in the aforementioned research areas, and the subsequent translation of these research questions into new research projects.
